use ful information. http://www.ugandatours.org

The Muffin Post

Three destinations that have never before exhibited at an international trade show are celebrating a significant win in the IMEX 2010 Wild Card program this week.

As a result, Uganda, the new Hof Conference and Cultural Centre in Iceland, and the traditional alpine village of Morzine, France, will each line up, free of charge, on the IMEX Wild Card Pavilion at Messe Frankfurt when the eighth IMEX gets underway on May 25.

Tanzania tourism signs deal with Ethiopian Airlines

Ethiopian Airlines Flights

The Tanzania Tourist Board and Ethiopian Airlines have signed a two-year Memorandum of Understanding to promote Tanzania tourism worldwide.

The MoU was signed with the intention to increase the number of visitors to both Tanzania and Ethiopia, increase the presence of Tanzania tourism in key international markets, as well as enhance the business profile of Ethiopian Airlines.

The MoU ceremony took place in Tanzania at Uhuru Hotel in Moshi near Kilimanjaro and was signed by Aloyce Nzuki, managing director for Tanzania Tourist Board and Hailemelokot Memo, sales representative for Ethiopian Airlines.

Nzuki said: “Ethiopian Airlines currently provides extensive airlift to Tanzania’s three major gateways (Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar) and the new joint promotion agreement will expand the already strong partnership that we have with Ethiopian Airlines, especially in the North American market.”

Tanzania Tourist Board will develop and implement activities to promote tourist traffic to Tanzania via Ethiopian Airlines including promoting Ethiopian on the tourist board’s website, allowing Ethiopian to have a presence at Tanzania stands in trade and consumer fairs as well as organise joint road show promotions.

Other areas of cooperation between Tanzania Tourist Board and Ethiopian Airlines will focus on Tanzania and Ethiopia as twin destinations; and further support Ethiopian in developing programs and packages to Tanzania through its in-house tour operators.

In the United States, ET African Journeys already offers a full range of destination Tanzania itineraries including to the northern and southern safari circuits.

The Lake Elementaita Serena, a very posh safari camp located on the Soysambu Conservancy comprising 24 tented suites, has added horse riding to their list of activities available for visitors.

The horses were selected to cater for advanced riders as well as for novices and the guides are trained not just in horse lore but bush lore as well when taking out guests for safaris into the sprawling estate.

Visitors are likely to experience the wilderness more close up and personal, able to see some of the 50+ species of game from the third dimension, as conventional game drives as well as guided walks are also available when exploring the conservancy. Birders in particular will find rich pickings as over 450 species of resident and migratory birds have been recorded on Soysambu, including being one of the rare breeding grounds for white pelicans.

Less than two hours drive from Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city, the Lake Elementaita Serena has opened up the Soysambu Conservancy and the shores of Lake Elementaita, where regularly large concentrations of flamingos add a shade of pink to the spectacular sights across the water.

The lake is recognized globally as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is part of the sprawling estate established in the late 1900’s by Lord Delamare and today still run by the family.
